Arial Home Wiki > Trailer Packing List
Trailer Packing ListFrom $1Table of contentsNo headersThere are several categories of items which need to be shipped to each Arial Home build site. In the future, we may use an enclosed 18 foot cargo trailer to take all of the building parts, supplies, tools, and even furniture to the work site in one trip. Presently, in Ensenada, Mexico, we tow an 18 foot open trailer with the basic home parts, and use a tool van to carry the parts bins and the tools separately. The categories of items that are used during an Arial Home build can be summarized as follows: 1) Home Structural Components -- This includes wall panels, roof panels, U channels, L pieces, T pieces, door panel, etc. Every one of these items is typically used in the Arial Home structure and no items are returned to the factory. 2) Home Assembly Supplies -- This category includes Tapcon concrete screws, self-tapping sheet metal screws, EternaBond roof sealant tape, light bulbs, WireMold, etc. More screws and parts are taken to the job sites in case there are unusual circumstances, so there are left over supplies that should be returned to the warehouse. 3) Tools in Bins -- The majority of the tools, such as rubber mallets, screw guns, caulk guns, magnetic levels, etc. fit in the labeled bins and all are returned to the factory where they are cleaned and organized after each build. 4) Home Supplies -- These are items that go into the home such as window curtain rods and curtains, door curtain rods and door curtains, shower curtain, toilet paper holder, towel racks, toilet paper, etc. 5) Over Sized Tools and Cleaning Items -- This list includes a pick axe, two shovels, ladders, 2 x 12 boards 10 feet long, 2 x 4 boards 4 feet long, 3 brooms, 2 mops, 4 saw horses, 6 folding plastic tables, folding chairs, 2 pails, etc. Most of these items are returned to the factory where they are cleaned and organized. One of the brooms, one of the mops, and one of the pails are left with the family for their home. 6) Cleaning Supplies -- This includes rags, paper towels, Windex, WD-40, etc. Most of the left over supplies are left with the family. 7) Miscellaneous Items -- This category includes the kitchen sink, the water tank, the solar panel (where needed), the battery (where needed), etc. PACK CHECK LISTS It takes a lot of parts and tools to build an Arial Home. If just one critical part or tool is left behind, it could delay the build for hours. It is critical that the people in charge of loading the trailers and the vans use checklists for each category of item so that everything needed is on hand at the build site without multiple trips back to the factory.
